While I am waiting for my official software key, I have been given a 30 day trial key. I used it to install Crystal Reports on a laptop successfully but after installing it on a Windows 2012R2 server it fails to start up due to the following error:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\crw32.exe
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail."
How to fix this and get it running?
-Thanks
SAP store support supplied me with the following link: http://scn.sap.com/community/netweaver-administrator/blog/2013/04/17/fixing-the-windows-side-by-side-configuration-is-incorrect-error-sapadmin I followed the advice in the link and downloaded Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (I already had 2012 apparently) and now Crystal reports will start but immediately crashes due to the crw32.exe app crashing if I am reading the problem details correctly. Ok, so I ran a repair on the Crystal Reports installation and it fixed the problem. CR is now running successfully on my server. Message was edited by: Dan Gardner
