Most of the chemical companies operates in china wanted to hide their formula. When using SAP, they don't want to see BOM component material description for any operator. Even they do the production reporting, they don't want any operator to see the material description to the operator. We can use dummy material description for Chinese lanaguge in the material master but that will be an issue when vendor sent the raw material and person doesn't aware what is cross reference for this material. If knows the cross reference, he might know the raw materials used in the formula. I can make material description field invisible but that is administrative setting and it will be applicable for all other plants configured in the same system other than china plant. Maybe someone has already worked for any chinese chemical plant implementation and he might aware of this issue. Highly appreciate your input how we can address this situation.
