Crystal Reports X on Windows Server 2012

I know this is akin to asking Cheverolet to modify it's latest cars to allow a dinosaur to drive it ... but ...

We had some old web servers running Windows Server 2003 with IIS6 and Crystal Reports 10 (most of our current reporting is done using Business Objects) and we've been tasked with getting rid of that old server so I'm currently trying to get these old CR10 Reports to run on our 2012 Server running IIS8.

I was able to get CR10 installed with no problem and I can open the client and get one of the reports to run ... but if I try to hit it via an ASP page on the server, I get a Invalid TLV Record error.  I know that some times images can cause that error, so I removed all the images from the .rpt and tried again and now get a:

error '80047616'

An external object raised an error.  No Error Description Available.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for how to handle this?  Any help would be greatly appreciated ... as there's not much out there for my current situation.
