I need your advise on how to proceed with this case. Our client purchased HANA and as part of POC we need to install SLT2.0 to replicate data from ECC into HANA. We decided to go with Dedicated server option which are VM with Windows 2008 64 bits. I have the option of using SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 on Shared server or using local database SQL 2012. Both sql servers are Standard and client is not planning to upgrade to Enterprise. Here are some info about source / Target.
Source System (already in place)
- ABAP source
- OS: AIX
- Database: Oracle
- Kernel: NW 740 SP 31
Target System (HANA) (will be implemented)
- OS: SUSE Linux Enterprise
- Database: HANA
- Version: SPS 08
I need to install NW ABAP server as part of requirement prior SLT2.0 installation. I decided NW 7.4 with respect to source SAP_Basis. From NW 7.4 installation I picked following components for installation;
- 51045590 - NW AS ABAP for Suite/NW 7.4 - Enhancement Packages
- 51048524_1 - NW 7.4 SR2 Installation Export
- 51048525-10 - SAP Kernel 7.42 Windows Server on 64bits
This installation of "NetWeaver 7.4 Support Release 2" failed in "Import ABAP" during installation. I already created another discussion (http://scn.sap.com/message/15518837#15518837) which the response is not clear to me. I didn't see Enterprise version is required in PAM. Also client does not plan to purchase Enterprise license for SQL databases.
I also tried to make it work with 7.41 and SQL 2008 on remote server. I picked following components.
- 51045590 - NW AS ABAP for Suite/NW 7.4 - Enhancement Packages
- 51047454_8 - NW 7.4 SR1 Installation Export
- 51048107_8 - SAP Kernel 7.41 Windows Server on 64bits
This installation of "NetWeaver 7.4 Support Release 1" didn't go through because I could not find option for "Application Server ABAP" or "Distrusted Installation".
Could you let me know what version I should use and what installations components from NW installation and upgrade to have ABAP instance for SLT2.0? There is an urgency with this POC and I do appreciate your help.
